The reduction in immigration played a part in the decline in population. Birth rates also contributed to the decline in population, and death rates increased. In the age group 25-54 there are approximately 39.60% individuals, of those 64,170,791 are males, and 64,135,619 females. In the 65 and older age group, there are approximately 15.25% individuals; of those 21,895,128 are males, and 27,525,255 females.
